UPDATE:-
Following the exploratory archaeological survey during the week of 24th August 2009 several discoveries were made which has led to a full site survey being carried out.
The foundation slab was completed by the beginning of November and blockwork, stonework and masonry has continued at a pace.
By the beginning of January 2010 the roof struts were in place.
Our builders (John Lucas) have scheduled a period of approx 26 weeks from commencement of build to completion and in Mid March 2010 we were advised that the handover will be Maundy Thursday (April 1st).
The extension has now been handed over to us and is to be ‘opened’ on 6th June (coinciding with Open Gardens weekend) and will be officially opened on 20th June following a blessing by our archdeacon, the Ven. Hugh McCurdy.
This is in addition to the fully function kitchen, already installed at the back of the church, that has been in use for several months, and has been appreciated by all.
None of this could have been achieved without the efforts and donations received from a huge cross section individuals from the congregation and non-congregation.
We also need to thank specifically various Grant giving agencies.
